I totally agree with reducing plastic consumption but to send perfectly good items, such as bath toys and the vacuum, to waste rather than using it to the end of its lifespan is completely irresponsible action and not in-line with living a zero waste lifestyle. Use what you have, purchase more responsibly as you move forward.

All for trying to be zero waste and reducing plastic use...but if you already own something there's no point throwing it away when you decide to go plastic free. Better to keep reusing the plastic you already have until you can't anymore.

Throwing out your plastic stuff when you're still using it is stupid. Use what you've already bought. Just don't buy more. And discard of it responsibly.

Everyone here is talking about with this family's efforts are good enough or flawed. I'm just happy a plastic free lifestyle is being filmed and talked about. The more its talked about, the more companies will be pressured to go plastic free. If you want this topic to gain traction in more media, I suggest all to like and share those video, and other similar ones.

Wonderful! Some comments seem to suggest people rather not try at all because perfection is not possible. Well, better do good while aiming for perfection than doing nothing at all. If only more people lived like them and at least tried to do better instead of settle for being wasteful and unhealthy.

reduce, reuse, recycle - i agree the first one is the most important, kudos to this family. they’re doing the best they can, which is commendable - not easy to give up conveniences and luxuries that we all take for granted.

We need to see more of this and should be a larger part of education.

i dont understand why shes throwing away the toys. i mean the plastic has already been manufactured, and the company has made money from the sale, she can atleast wait til the kids grow out of them to pollute the environment with them

We avoid plastic as much as we can. It does bother me that our organic food is wrapped in plastic.

Although it sounds an extreme idea and hard to follow, I would fully support this life style without plastic.

Plastic is one of the worst inventions in human history.

When I was a child, in my hometown people used traditional container/tools/ from wood/bamboo/metal/paper/clothing/, etc... Even if there was some trash in the environment, it would be rotten/decayed soon.

Nowdays, the plastic is everywhere and people don't collect the trash well. The plastic trash can last for millions years. Human being made this white pollution, made this crime to the nature and themselves.

Great to see this documentary on this subject. I recently got a part time job at a recycling centre and there is just mountains of plastic!! This family show how hard it is to get away from the stuff. I'm looking at reducing my use of it in relation to food and drink. That is at least a health issue as well as rubbish issue. I would like to buy 4 - 7 acres of land and become more self sufficient with a permaculture farm as an end goal of reducing my non-sustainable ways.

this is why action needs to be taken on the industry's end. it's not feasible or reasonable to expect people to have to go through all this just to avoid something they didn't need to begin with. if we simply required companies to do away with plastic wherever possible then we would reduce our plastic waste exorbitantly. it really irritates me that people act like even that is an inconvenience when the real inconvenience is that our oceans are filled with microplastics.

Well, I agree with their lifestyle, there is no harm in this lifestyle so why are some people so hysterical about it????

They never said they were doing this for the environment. They are doing it for their own health.

I think the purpose of this video was just an experiment on trying to live without plastic, not a zero waste kind of video. Still, an eye-opener! Sending love to everybody watching! ❤️

We don't need handful of people doing zero waste, we need millions of doing imperfectly.

Instead of throwing everything away, they could use them as long as they last !

Rwanda dealt with this in 2010 . They banned plastic bags . There is life beyond plastic bags
