I sent this to one of my professors and now it’s a part of her lesson plan for the module on Medieval Literature

Sir Gawain: "That was a... pretty good flick!"
Green Knight: "Yeah."
Gawain mumbles.
GK: "What was that?"
SG: "I guess I just (sigh)... I kinda feel like you put a bit more... _oomph_ ... into *your* flick."
GK: "What?"
SG: "Like, I mean, the deal was that you'd do the same blow, and, like, I think you maybe flicked me a bit harder than I flicked you, but... I mean, I guess it's no big deal-"
GK: "YOU DARE IMPUGN MY HONOR? AS A KNIGHT? YOU INSINUATE THAT I BETRAYED OUR COVENANT? I DEMAND YOU REPAY THIS INSULT WITH YOUR HEAD!"
SG: "Ah. Well, how 'bout just an apology instead? Like, I didn't mean to insult you or anything, and it was like a year ago. I guess I flicked you a bit harder than I meant to a year ago. My bad. We good?"
GK: "... Your apology is acceptable."

10/10. It’s like he only listened to one part of the whole monologue. Also the visual metaphor in that movie is some of the best I’ve ever seen. Everything is so connected to the theme.

I had the same thought while watching the movie. Another version could be 'The Green Knight but Sir Gawain is bad at instruction' because I am and when the Green Knight was explaining the rules I was like 'oh shit, what? should I write this down? This is a lot of instruction'
I figured it out later in the movie while he was on the journey.

I honestly had to look up what the story was about before watching it.
From what little I learned Sir Gawin was really stupid in the original story.
