What is a resultant and how do we determine its magnitude and direction?
Head to tail method and parallelogram method of addition and how to subtract vectors (add the negative vector!). Finding the distance from a starting point and your bearing, ground speed of an airplane and finding equivalent vectors in a cube.

Finally it all becomes clear! Thanks so much Miss Havrot!

Wouldn't the resultant vector have a magnitude of 159, 100 km/h because R= (450)^2 +(140)^2- 2(450)(140)cos60? ....I think you accidentally put the value of the angle where the magnitude of the N40E vector should be.

Hello Ms. Havrot! Love your Youtube videos! I've been watching them in preparation for the following school year and I just finished all your Calculus playlists. While I was doing a bit of practice problems for this lesson, I found that the questions that involved drawing vector diagrams I wasn't getting the exact same as the textbook. I was wondering, are there multiple ways to draw one vector or is there only one right answer?

When you calculated r-value, you used 60 instead of 140

hi ms! so when we’re given 2 vectors and it asks to find the resultant vector, does it matter if we use the tip to tail or the tail to tail method? i’m not sure since in your example in the beginning had the same vector length, so does it apply to every vector addition problem?

Miss for the first question, I thought you were always supposed to find the angle in relation to the x axis, is that not the case?

is the bearing always measured from North to the resultant vectors head ?

why is vector OB not the root of a^2+b^2 ? i was thinking in terms of Pythagorean theorem

At 26:11 is there a more efficient and memorable way to find the angle? What math and logic can i use to help find the angle?

for vector OF for the last question, couldn't you have just done OB + BF
