Intro to Vector Addition and Subtraction
Показать описание
An introduction to how to use the tip-to-tail method for adding and subtracting vectors
0:00 - What is a vector?
1:23 - Parts of a vector
2:19 - How to add two vectors
3:33 - Steps to adding vectors
6:11 - Adding multiple vectors
7:38 - Vector addition is commutative
8:30 - When vector sum = 0
10:20 - How to subtract vectors
Basic steps for adding vectors:
- draw first vector
- starting from the head of the first vector, draw the second vector
- repeat for as many vectors as you need
- the resultant will be a vector drawn from the tail of the first vector you drew (start) to the head of the last one (finish).
To subtract vectors:
- make the vector being subtracted negative by flipping it 180 degrees (or just erase the head and draw it where the tail originally was)
- now add the vectors using the same process as addition.
