I did a video about this today. Any and all claims that Studio Gaga is doing anything more then confirming they are not tied to the anime and its not licensed is being added on by everyone else. Studio Eclypse has also confirmed that they would still be producing the show, but they had always intended to get approval and permission closer to the completion of the first episode. All the animators, voice actors, musicians, etc in the studio are legit creators and some of thr animators have done fan animated Berserk projects before. Mark Reymor did an adaptation of Guts vs Rosine from Lost Children a couple years back. Non profits can make profit so long as profits are invested back into the project or events. As the team plans on producing everything from Berserk, doing a standard igg or ks is not tenable, patreon is the smartest choice for such a long term plan.

I’m sorry but as long as they actually were animating this and it wasn’t a scam, I’m still completely on the side of the fan project. The company has done nothing to make a good berserk adaptation, so I completely understand why fans would wanna make their own. Every anime project needs money if they really expect to make a good product. Passion doesn’t pay the bills. This is like when Nintendo sues emulators, even though they don’t actually sell any way to buy those older games.

I this is dumb, if they don't want fans making the anime themselves then the official studio should make a faithful adaptation. Basically just continue in the 1997 artstyle.

It’s good but the thing is people fail to recognize other studios or random groups of people made really good fan animation their this one called hearts studios or something and they made a amazing 1997 or whatever animation for berserk
