Thank you for this video. People
Don’t do good videos like this when they do HID or Led. They show the lights in the headlight but never down the road or they do it on the day time. Sometimes they just show the garage or the wall 😭so thank you!

The housing is reflecting all the light leaking in the housing. It’s designed to utilize the reflector for the high beam. You’d have to seal the projector so no light would be hitting the reflector when the low beam is on. To get these to work properly would require a special reflector setup that only reflected the high beam. Cool concept but need some more work, imo.

you’ve just earned a like and a sub. i’ve just made a set of custom headlights (as i’ve just posted here on this youtube channel) however i painted the reflectors black. big mistake. i couldn’t be bothered to take them apart again just to fit a projector in order to make them work. this will be my alternative. thank you brother, cannot wait to see my results

These things are realy good. To get rid of these leaking lights, doesnt matter if you're using mini projectors or default headlamps, you need to polish the headlight or change the front less to a new model withou these scars. Some models have it, don't know about your car.

If you want to get rid of the glare, paint the inside of the housings black. That'll remove all the glare you're getting.

Two things re replacement head light video. Due to driving in heavy snow I added a pair of Amber RIGID 6" to the front bumper of my 2006 Tundra. Separate switch and they do not turn on the brights-defeats the purpose of better snow lights// I had a 1986 ACURA INTEGRA (1st year). Driving in the mountains around S. California encounter fog spring and late fall. Had a pair of 4" small BOSCH fog lights installed. Whatever wiring was done w fog light switch I was able to turn on Only the parking lights with the fog lights. That was a great combo so no interference in fog from the low beam. I was only stopped once by law enforcement for running that mode. I said I would get that fixed. Moved out of CA in 1990. Sold the car in 1994 with fog/parking lights only mode intact.

I just did this on my ‘07 2nd gen, and it significantly improved the throw of the lights. I think I was blinding other driver with my previous led bulb “upgrade.” But getting the reflector cap thing out was a huge pain, and I did some damage to the housing in the process. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to other 2nd gen owners because of that.

To fix foglight issue you need 2 resistors to plug into the headlights

I'm guessing you're getting that scatter due to still having reflector housing. I'm gonna order these up and try them with my mostly blacked out housing and see how they run. A bit goofy about the fog button, but total bonus of not having the annoyingly distracting bright blue hibeam indicator in your face. Obviously can't use the fogs, but I never use them anyway. Thanks for the vid man. These have been helpful messing around with my 03.

You need to get a resister for the headlights, that why it the fog light switch turns the brights on and disables the fog lights, I had the same problem and I got it solved when I got a resister

Scatter is to be expected when using halogen housing. This is why most people retrofit onto clear and smooth surface aftermarket head lights when it comes to older vehicles.

Good info as usual! Maybe do a follow up video in a couple months and tell us how many oncoming drivers flashed their brights at you. That’s how I judge if my LEDs are aimed too high 😂

Definitely an improvement but can tell its no where near as good as a quality projector. The beam on the bulb isnt very wide and it lacks range.

I know it hasnt been too long, but have you had any issues with these so far? I couldnt find any warranty info on the Carbon Monoxide light website. (CO lighting... that's what the old gas lamps burned in the early 1900s!)

In all seriousness, though, I crashed my Tundra earlier this year and my old HID retrofits got destroyed. They were very expensive. Now that the Tundra is fixed and nice and shiny, I'm seriously considering these. At $60 a pair, maybe I shouldn't worry about a warranty, but I just never want to mess with them again.

Can I use this on my reflector based High Beams? (originally H7 halogen bulb)
