To someone who don't know Collage, they are two-person indie band in Taiwan and their musics are always rooted in Taiwanese diverse history and culture. That's why you can hear they actually sing the song in Taiwanese and some English rather than common Mandarin. Highly recommend people who enjoy the song " nine sols" to check out more of their songs which include Indigenous language, Taiwanese and Japanese. Not to mention the vocal's growling is also fantastic. However you can't really find a lot of information about them since they are keeping a low profile and only focusing on their musics.

So, I get this interpretation from Reddit, if you listen carefully, the Taiwanese parts are Heng speaking with Yi, the English parts are Yi speaking with Heng, the whole song is a conversation between Heng and Yi, just pay attention and you will see that this song is heartbreaking as f

Excuse me? This is the best credits song ever, so satisfying after beating the final boss after such an emotional finale.
Masterpiece of a game, and this song is the best way to end it.

Nine Sols as a whole is a beautiful game. The storytelling is peak. This song has so much meaning just like the game. “When the sun is falling should I chase it” is such a raw line as it outlines the ideal of what one can and can’t do during the end of the world. This song also sounds like it’s partly hangs perspective. I love this game and I’m glad to have found it.

Hearing this *banger* during the credits after managing to get the true ending on my first playthrough after fighting the final boss for over two hours was cathartic to say the least.
I swear every-time I listen to it I'm able to think up a whole animated music video of Yi's journey.

I'll forever associate the moment in the song when the artist is screaming to the sound that Shuanshuan crying woukd make. That poor child must be devastated (his parents were killed and just when he was getting an adoptive father he lost him). 😢

I thought Nine Sols was a pretty good 8/10 game for the first half of the game, but the combination of the music and combat flow steadily began to win me over more and more, driving me to push on and see more of what it has to offer

The writing of ShuanShuan, Shennong, and Kuafu eventually softened me in a way I wasn't expecting for a metroidvania title and haven't really felt since Hollow Knight, elevating it to a 9/10

The final boss, the purest and most exhilarating boss battle I have ever had wrapped it up so well, coupled with the narrative payoff of the True Ending, bumped it up to a near perfect 9.5/10

But the sheer magic and emotional weight that this song brought to the credits, out of nowhere, proved RCG have something that needs to lauded and preserved in the industry. *Soul, * and this makes it a 10

This is one of the games where i wish i could experience it for the first time all over again, except for the fact that it ends off in such an amazing way that it keeps its magic in your head for months after you beat it.

I love the way the end credits played in game. To me, this song plus the statues of the Sols passing by felt as if a human in todays world had somehow found remnants of the Solarian civilization and is in awe about how great this race must have been, not knowing that they were just as flawed as we are.

I was able to discern what it says in the beginning whispers, and it's the poem by Dylan Thomas "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" - she started by "rage, rage into the dying light....don't go gentle into that good night".

Below is the full poem, and in context to the story it's pretty fitting.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

edit: before anyone mentions it, this poem was written around 1950, so the term "gay" was still used as another way to say "happy" -- throwing it out there before someone mentions it lol
