I am Mongolian and came across numerous archeological sites whenever I travel to the countryside. Once an archeologist told me it is easy to locate graves as they have stone indications on the surface but the majority of the graves are empty because it was tradition for enemies to dig each other's ancestors graves as a sign of humiliation and disrespect. Most of the graves were dug up and emptied hundreds of years ago. Since Mongolian empire always consisted of tribes perhaps that is why he wanted to hide his grave.

I thought he was last spotted in the sporting goods section of Sears at the mall in San Dimas, California; where the water slides are most excellent.

The animations have gotten so much better over time! I have watched your channel for years and every so often when I watch the videos I notice the increase in quality. You still deliver such interesting topics. 🤔

“Can’t believe he’s gone… he was such a warrior!”
“Yeah… anyway, would you rather be stabbed to death or shot in the heart by an arrow?”
“Is neither an option?”
“…no.”

I will never cease to be amazed by Thoughty2's dedication to create his own animations as well as stock footage. Simply incredible.

Did they leave the 2000 bodies there? I don't think a few soldiers could move them all? And they were also killed. So would it be somewhere with 2000 skeletons?

WOw!!! Funny, informative and thought provoking as always!!! I've been fascinated with Ghengis Khan since I was a little girl (a very long time ago) in geography and history lessons; of course most of what we were taught about this famous man has since turned out to be totally wrong, but the fascination remains...what a great ruler he was!!!
Thank you so much for all your hard work, I look forward to all your posts knowing that I'll learn something new while chuckling every time...Oh! if only our history lessons had been half as interesting!!! Hugs and appreciation from a fellow Brit 😊😉🤩

Just a theory, but: Perhaps he was cremated or quickly buried on a convenient hillside by his men, and then the myth of the funeral oddities slowly evolved over time... which further helped to solidify his historical reputation.

When your final request is "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE" and people can't even respect that. He must've used one hell of a VPN when picking out his burial site

I love how at 0:29 “death” is accompanied by taco bell sound. Imagine if that’s what is served in the afterlife 😂

Finding the grave of one guy would be really difficult but maybe it’s a bit easier to find the mass grave of the 2000 mourners and then just have a look nearby

In Young Justice, there is no tomb because Genghis Khan was another alias used by the immortal caveman Vandal Savage. The whole part about his tomb's location being obscured was likely a tale told so that nobody would know Savage was immortal and he could adopt another identity.

Wouldn't you just sort of look at the other guys and be like "well, he's dead do we still have to do this?"

They need to use infrared light LIDAR scanning archeology technology. I think they can do satellite archeological imaging that is capable of this type of archeological work. It could reveal things such as ancient dried up Rivers that would lead to clues and old man made building sites

Genghis didn't conquer Burma, his grandson attempted it, but was turned around due to lack of supplies across mountain ranges. Scortch earth tactics worked

It would not surprise me if all these stories were true. That is, maybe there was a burial on the steppe, and one in the mountains, and one near the court, but in two of these cases the casket was empty -- or more likely, housed an unfortunate double. This would be sure to generate conflicting stories that would confuse potential grave-robbers.

There is no tomb. The genius had himself cremated and this is all his greatest achievement: Tricking billions of people across thousands of years of time.
