Intuition is a song by British Soul-Funk Band Linx, fronted by singer David Grant.
The single was released in March 1981, reaching the highest position of 7 in the UK Top 10 music charts in early part of 1981.
Linx had success with 'Intuition'  due to a BBC technicians strike which resulted in only music videos and photographic stills being allowed to be used on Top of the Pops for a period of time. This resulted in the music video for 'Intuition', which at the time was in the '60's' in the music charts, being shown several times on television. This resulted in it rising to the top ten in the UK music charts.
The music video for Intuition is very historic, because it is the first British music video in the history of British music (as well as Black-British music) that documents  aspects of Black-British History and Intellect in the visual of the British music video.
What is being documented in the visual of this music video,  are the aspects of growing up in the United Kingdom as a young  black person from a family of the Windrush Generation  of Black people who came to the United Kingdom from the Caribbean in the West Indies.
This very fact (still today in the 21st Century) has not truly been acknowledged in British Music Culture -whether this is from white British musicians or Black-British musicians in the British Music Industry.
It has (still to this very day) NOT been acknowledged  from music professionals working in the British music industry, whether from white or black British music professionals.
I am not sure that the music video for this single (that I have included here) is the official music video of this single. Maybe someone out there can en-lighten me on this issue.
This music video represents  an enormous importance in the visual of British/ Black-British culture and reflects how Black-British history in the British music video has culturally NEVER been truly acknowledged.
For my own purpose, I hope I can be someone who puts that wrong to right.

Sitting here in 2024…the tune popped into my head, but I had to work to find it using the UK music charts of 1981 and I’m glad I found it. The tunes a lot of fun and has aged well. 🩷
