Took 20 years to build that. Now, it will take 46 years to rebuild.

This is a joke. One of the largest highways serving the 6th largest city in the US is entirely shutdown and they send one excavator and one breaker? If this was really a priority or if this was Japan or China, they would send 20 of each with a line of dump trucks from I95 to Roosevelt Blvd overnight.

Has anyone else noticed the media completely avoiding telling who the driver is or the company that owns the truck that caught fire? Kind of like the fires in Canada. Dozens of fires start at exactly the same moment with zero reporting.

I am impressed. Starting demolition this soon. Curious who shredded the red tape? I know it was not mayor pete. He is breastfeeding

In China they fix this bridge span in 43 hours. Come on America! No more excuses ! Fix it fast ! END your endless wars and U.S imperialism! 231'000 bridges need to be either replaced or fixed.

Maybe we could borrow money from the Ukraine to fix it

"theres no way this could take that long"

bro they have literally only ONE excavator there working on it. Any logical human being that wants this rebuilt quickly would use 10 on each side

If this were to happen in New York the repair estimate would be between 6 months and never.

They could have a temp span up quickly but they need to get bigger equipment on the demolition that can be cleared out in 2 days if they throw everything they have at it.

See all that stringy stuff? Rebar! Now look at pictures of Afghanistan, Turkey, and all the other earthquake countries. No rebar.

All jokes aside if this was China it would be fixed within the week. If not 48 hours.

Here is a brilliant idea... Fill in the underpass with dirt....So its not a bridge... just solid earth.. People could be driving across it in a few days. Then engineer a repair later.
