Bell UH-1H Helicopter start sound

I’m a former helicopter and turbine engine mechanic and I LOVE the sound of the ignitor clicking along with that low whine at start up, and that hot kerosene smell. Gets my heart pumping!

In the mid 70's before a military cut back we used to see up to four dozen Huey's flying in formation over our house. It was so loud that everything shook! I loved it!!!

My mother owns a home on the flight path of the local Nation Guard Armory. Hueys flew over her house often - thump, thump! A very distinct sound.. I was informed that it was more than likely so crews could build flight time. It was like living near an airport at times. I loved it! A free air show!

Oh boy, DO i like the Huey! As a voluntary firefighter i see a lot of helicopters starting, carrying patients away from accident sites...the Huey was a sturdy, solid piece of technology and I remember the incomparable knocking when she came flying very well 🥰
