This is Spider-Man. For me Miles is the main Spider-Man, similar how Wally West is the main Flash for so many. I love Pete, it’s just editorial doesn’t seem to love him anymore.

Nice extra detail I appreciate is Raneem's "death" mirrors Aaron's back in the original Ultimate Universe. Given the Ziglar was making those other callbacks to Miles' origin arc, this definitely felt like an intentional callback.

And I think that's what I dig most about Ziglar being at the helm. It feels like in this modern era, whenever a new writer takes over the book they're in a goldrush to immediately put their own thumbprint on the character they tend to write around what got established in previous runs. This intro arc walked the fine balance of feeling fulfilling for someone who's read the character since the beginning and really newbie friendly.

It’s weird but cool that even with lackluster stories with Peter. Miles’s stories get better and better

It's cool that Ziggler is picking up on a story thread Bendis only started develop near the end of his run. He started showing miles creating webbing with his venom power, and made it out to be a big deal but never really did anything with it before he left the company. This run keeps getting better!

I can’t believe I’m hyped for a crossover headlined by Carnage

This was such a good arc for miles. Great character work, use of his supporting cast and forward progression for his life. Plus, an upgrade to his abilities.

I also noticed that Rabble’s fate mirrored Phin’s from the end of Miles’ PlayStation 4/5 game. Cody has definitely been paying attention.

I do wish that this book wouldn’t be involved in a huge crossover event immediately after a relaunch.

Look what dark web did to the quality of Peter’s book. But fingers crossed.

Hopefully, after this, Marvel will give Carnage a break. He’s completely overexposed at this point.

Amazing conclusion to an already really good story arc. I agree joel that I love raneem's "death" in this issue. All her life she felt like she had no agency in the things that happened to her and now when she finally does, she sees miles trying to talk her down as him removing her agency once again and that's when she breaks. Really good stuff, I think miles finally got the archenemy he needed.

Miles might not be able to make gadgets to get himself out of sticky situations like Peter but applying his bioelectricity in new and creative ways is just as good. Add Venom Blast Sword to the list!

This has been a very good arc for Miles, even more so than the arcs Peter has been going through as of late.
That being said, Miles' new power seems interesting and I don't mind the initial implementation of it but I did get flashbacks (pun intended) of the speedforce lightsaber battle from that one season of The Flash, so I can see how people might roll their eyes concerning this. lol

Why is Misty a better mentor to Miles compared to Peter?
On another note....this issue does hint at a way Miles could define himself apart from Peter....him being a "young amateur dectective" seems to be a good direction to grow into leaving Peter to hopefully under better editorial to be the sciencey tinkerer hero.

This is cool for Miles. I wish they did this to Peter instead of nerfing him. He should have new powers as well. They don't do anything with him. He is a genius but barely uses gadgets to help him these days. The spider that bit him supposed to be radioactive, so he should have radioactive powers, and he can apply his knowledge with these powers. Also think of the synchronicity between Peter and Miles' power, the combo moves would be unstoppable. It's great Miles have a good run, but what are they even doing with Peter's run lol. They waste potential and squandered Peter's growth and development. Marvel be hypocrites.
