Adhesive Eyelid Weight is a Helpful Solution in Temporary Facial Nerve Paralysis

This gentleman has a facial nerve paresis following removal of a large acoustic neuroma. He requires eye protection but a good recovery of function is expected. This adhesive eyelid weight by MedDev provides good eye closure. If eye function does not return a permanent weight and eyelid surgery can be performed later. Look up the metal Medved uses to make these weights - tantalum. If you are not happy with what you find, ask around and find someone to help you make one out of surgical steel.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have a chronic case of Bell’s palsy and my eye was getting better until my doctor decided for Botox injection on my upper eyelid “to open my eye a little”. As a result, my eye won’t close and is tearing all the time. Eye drops and ointment are not helping, leaving me in a really bad situation. I went to her office today and asked for a prescription for the eyelid weights. Although I understand that the Botox will wear off in a couple of months, I feel extremely uncomfortable. I am very hopeful that this product will help me. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
