I was at this game. The guy was so ready to take a shot and the crowd loved every second of it. Fantastic game all around

Honestly that's a flex for the future.

"Yeah I played in the NHL, never let a goal in either"

I'm a Hawks fan. It's great this guy got to play this great game. He looks so happy during that interview. And, he's got a 1.000 save %. At least we're 1 step closer to Bedard! Congrats to the Oilers and Connor McDavid for yet another amazing performance!

Gotta love the NHL and these scenarios that happen every few years. Also gotta love the players that push to get these guys in and get a chance. What a memory this guy will have forever.

Great move by McDavid to push for getting him in. McDavid knew how big that would be and how great of a memory that would create so props to him for pushing to get him in for the last couple minutes.

Not many people will see this but I was the stickboy back when Berlin was on the kootenay Ice in the WHL, it is so awesome to see him have a game in the show. Even if it was for a couple minutes. Everyone on that team back then dreamed of getting there but only a few have and it's so amazing seeing one of a goalies I looked up to back then make it this far

Mcdavids a true captain. He looked out for his team and told the coach to give the new guy some ice time which he may never get to do again. Great story all around !

He already has a nickname. The Berlin Wall 😂

It was great seeing Connor talk about this after the game. Here correctly stressed the two most important things: No disrespect to Chicago, and Berlin still has a chance to make it back to the NHL one day on a paid contract or another ATO (Canadian U Sports is no joke).

Hawks fan here and there's absolutely no way anyone in Chicago took offense with this especially after the Foster experience. Congrats to Berlin. Would have been cool to see him face something like a Kane breakaway. Either way, great story he can tell his kids someday. Keep up the great work Eck.

Even as a flames fan I have to say mad respect to let him in the game. As a hockey fan stories like this are what I live for.

Class act by the Oilers organization. Well done.

I was a goalie in Edmonton, the same age as Berlin and Skinner, and they were known as the two best goalies in the city. It’s surreal for me to see them both in the NHL, I can only imagine what it would be like for them :)

As a blackhawks fan I think this is absolutely awesome! We suck so having the opportunity to be a part of something cool like this is a season highlight. Hockey is about making dreams come true.

Seeing that Golden Bears helmet reminds me of a few years ago when Halifax hosted the USports Hockey Championship. The Golden Bears were playing the eventual champion UNB team. One of the UNB players shot a knuckler from his own end and it bounced and bounced and I new in my heart it was going to skip by the Golden Bears goalie. And it did. To say it was all downhill from there for the Golden Bears was an understatement. There were a lot of UNB fans in attendance and when the goalie made a save they would all mockingly cheer. It was tough to watch. I was rooting for STFX and they had an extended OT barnburner in the semis and had no legs when they played UNB in the finals. Canadian University hockey is the bomb. So exciting to watch. Everyone lays everything on the line since it is most likely the last time they will suit up in a meaningful game.
