Pros:
-no DVD player i like thta
- HDMI connection so convenient, i hate display adapter or thunderbolt,
HDMI is more unviersal
- get the 1080p screen makes a ghuge difference
- decent graphics card for playing video games has Radeon
-actually plays 4k without lag
-speakers are good
-battery life is good
- likethe keyboard well spread out
- good screen size 15.6 is enough for me

Cons:

-out of the box no SSD (would recommend upgrading it)
-no backlit keyboard
- could use a bit more usb
- dont like these new touchpads
dont like the charger, too flimsy

I just ordered one of these today. Don't even need a new laptop but the price was right so I figured why not. $610 (+tax) but I'll get about $60 back through a program at work that I used to buy the laptop. Came with the Ryzen 5 2500U, 16GB RAM, 256GB PCI-E SSD, 1080p screen, backlit keyboard, and the upgraded 2x2 Wi-Fi module.

What you called the thunderbolt, is actually a USB 3.1 type C, you can get an adapter for about $1 to connect type A devices to it. I have the same notebook but in blue. My only complaint is the 8 GB of RAM is a single SODIMM making it single channel, and it's not easy to open it to upgrade it.

I have the 15z with the Ryzen 7 and a touch screen. I noticed the colors can be very messed up and same with darkness. Do you have any clue how to fix it besides screen calibration? Because if I increase the gamma, the colors lose their saturation lmao

I have had a version of this laptop since May of this year. Mine came with a 250GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. It actually plays some modern games pretty respectably with the Vega Card, I was surprised. The keys have good feedback as well. (Would prefer backlit keys though) However, the screen is terrible. Mine has an HD Screen (720) and the viewing angles from above, below, or the sides, is *awful*. It looks like a washed out photography negative. I would absolutely not recommend it based just on that. It has nothing to do with the resolution, the 1080p (FHD) model in this video probably does the same thing. Also, mine is a touch screen, which is a gimmick with a laptop, and serves no purpose other than being a novelty. Ever since buying this laptop, I've learned that most cheap laptops in the $150-500 price range have garbage screens. Always make sure to buy a laptop that you can look at first. Look at it from above, below, the sides, with the lid half closed, etc. Make sure it has good viewing angles!

My laptop takes around 30 minutes to charge from 99 to 100, and 2hrs 20 minutes from 0 to 100 (when shutdown). I'm concerned about the half an hour it is taking to charge the final one percent.
Is is same for you?

HP's technician has already told me that it's normal time taken by battery, there's no issue at all.
