Well, let's just say that your air cooler alone is already worth more than my entire

I'd say since you don't have real temperature issue, just leave it air cooled, especially since its not cheap to get liquid cooling

There is no technical reason for you to water cool your computer. The question you need to ask yourself is thus: "Do I need a reason, besides wanting to do it, to do this thing?"

If the answer is no, water cool the hell out of that PC and make a video of it, please. I'm interested in how you overcome the issues you laid out. And instead of using water in the loop, use the tears of people who wish they were you.

I'm a watercooler myself, 360 + 240 rads topmounted horizontal flat, 2 bay resevoir, swiftech pump, cpu 2700x & 1070 gpu, only a single 120mm fan blowing gently onto the motherboard for vrm & memory cooling.
Coolant is tapwater and car coolant in a 4:1 mix - been using the same coolant for over a decade now over 3 system rebuilds by only changing the blocks with no issues whatsoever.

You should watch a few comparison videos before deciding on what to finally install in your PC and if it will have any benefits over air cooling or cause any problems with cost or performance. if i were in that situation i would not worry about the noise from the air cooling and buy a good quality pair of headphones to dampen the noise. The air cooling currently installed seems like an adequate cooling solution to manage the temperature of your installed CPUs while also minimising failure points of the system, and you do not want a failure with water cooling as it can lead you to buy a new PC, if you know what i mean.

I was watching your SSTA video when this popped up and I think it was the best coincidence ever because I just recently discovered your channel and I already like it :D

Alt title: Shadowzone hunkers down for KSP2

Your setup is pretty good. When I’m playing KSP my CPU will get over 100 degrees (Celsius). The fans are capable of cooling it off from that, but it takes a while and puts out a LOT of heat.

I just did a similar build recently myself. I ordered the same Noctua cooler you have. To my dismay, it wouldn't fit in my case. So I went with a closed loop water cooler (corsair). It's so easy as long as you have room in your case for the radiator.

You should get a new case that can be mounted on the wall and get the glass etched with KSP logo with a hard tube water cooling build.
If you have the money to do it.

Nice rig! Air cooling is more reliable. Water cooling, which i do use myself, has more points of failure and requires more maintenance. The Aqua computer Nexxos block is awesome. That's what I use on my CPU.

Good idea to have the computer under the cooker fume hood just in case it catches fire ;)

EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid (watercooled) with a Corsair H115i for the i9900k works well. Temps are always nice and cool, regularly below 50*C in AAA games. You can get aftermarket waterblocks for a lot of graphics cards for much less than $700 if you want to do something a bit more custom

My 1080 Ti is an EVGA SC2 air cooled, and I run a Corsair H150i Pro with push/pull fans for my 9700k. Water cooling with custom loops always looks awesome and can bring temps down, especially GPU temps, but if it's not necessary and you don't really care about the looks of a custom loop, then I wouldn't bother spending the 100's of dollars for water cooling. But like me, you say you like to tinker, so if you just want to do it for the tinker factor, then yeah go for it. You get to tinker, and you get an awesome looking custom loop and lower temps.

I would go with a quiet air cooling solution. Much less maintenance and if done properly, can be very quiet.

In 24 hours I will be swapping my 6700k to 3900x and going to make it custom loop as it has been for past 3 years. You should definetly do it if case supports it.

Are you gonna add a thermometer to that new black beast? XD

OMG! A zip drive lol. That's actually really cool man.

i agree with your component choice, but you have a beefy air cooler so if you are water-cooling do a custom loop if you can fit it because it looks like a pretty small case

Try the air cooling for a few months and if you think it will run into problems during the summer, 40 degrees or at least 30, you should upgrade to watercooling.
