Love the sound of a turbine. However, I like to eat also. So I'll stick to EDF fans, they sound great when done right in electric jets.

Real turbines also like to start burning randomly when you start them, so it’s always good to have a friend with a fire extinguisher stand next to the jet when you start it

The all black A-10 the gentleman with the ace bandage was flying, I don't I've seen that paint scheme on an ARF or PNP. Pretty cool.

Forgot one, sound systems for the electric B1RD's, such as my FWA-10, PJ-50, MIG-29. They have the Model Sounds Inc Shockwave 3 system and are amazing.

For those only interested in flying, the question isn't 'do I get a turbine?', it's 'how many cells do I need?'.

I use to fly RC jets when we had glow plug engines with tractor ( pulling) fans or the only pusher fan I knew of was made by Byron, it was a 6" pusher, you could take their F-16 & practically stand it up on its tail.
My dream turbine jet is a tough one, a McDonald Douglas F-18 Hornet or the McDonald Douglas F-4 Phantom, it would have to be a twin of course

I have a small fleet of EDF's that cost way less than one single turbine. They are mostly 64mm, but some are 70mm using 6S batteries that gives me much of the same speed and performance that a small turbine would give me for about $300.

"Budget" all depends on your will to wait and save. That being said, always start out at hobby grade. 150-250 with safe.

remember also pilots...captains and commanders....you can always mod your baby and its relatively cheap to do so my p51 ill be getting has a speaker you can put in with a p-51 merlin engine sound that is load af lol and many more add ons till you get that turbine

Turbine is more expensive but you get almost triple the fly time on average. Also you can just land and refill them. Yes you could land and put a fresh battery in but you’d need to time lots of batteries and that cost would add up quickly. Opposed to jet fuel costing about $5/gallon on average. And you can get several tanks out of a gallon.

Buy NERF whistling footballs and take the compact whistles out and carve out a hole in your edf’s exhaust tube!!!! They sound rad as fudge, and will mystify onlookers as to how it sounds. Easy upgrade that is totally worth the hassle
