That is a beautiful hornet. I was stung by a hornet when I was about nine years old, right arm ballooned and I remembered my mum applied raw honey on it.

The hornet is most likely a male because male hornets are passive and do not include stingers. Its usually the female ones that are aggressive because they have stingers.

White faced hornet stung me while raspberry picking…I yelled to my son and disturbed them and right between my eyes at the bridge of my nose…I swelled up so much my husband said I looked like. Klingon from Star Trek!

That's a bold faced hornet now it's either male or its a female that's not in a position we're she needs to sting however if it's female and she's near and/or with her nest then she'd sting you lol.
