Want to know how to build a strong aquarium rack to stack your aquariums? Stacked aquariums are awesome to have because it maximizes space and you get more fish tanks. Lets build a diy aquarium rack.

There are tons of options out there for aquarium stands. Wood aquarium stand, metal aquarium stands, concrete block aquarium stand and more. There are multiple ways to build an aquarium stand with wood. In today's video we will be building a dado style aquarium stand. As far as metal stands there are the pre manufactured ones that you can buy at your hardware stores or you can weld one up. And as for the concrete block stands, its really easy.
I am wanting to maximize the space that I have in my fish room. So lets add 2 more aquariums. I got some 75 gallon fish tanks at Petco during the dollar per gallon sale. I was looking for pre built metal stands for these and it was a dead end due to the thickness of the frame on these fish tanks. So It had to be a home made wood aquarium stand.
You will need: 2x4 lumber, 2.5 inch wood or all purpose screws, wood putty or caulk, table saw or chop saw or skill saw, power drill, drill bit, sandpaper, paint, shims, level, tape measure, wood clamps and a few more odds and ends.

Silly question maybe. But what about the base support? Doesn't each aquarium need a base support? Won't the bottom glass crack otherwise without support?

Hi, I made one just like that for two 55 gallons, look pretty narrow though. Shelf itself is 51.5”x41x13. Is yours similar measurements? And you think safe to use ?

man, i need one of these, but modified for a 20 gallon long on top, and two 10 gallons on bottom.
one 10 gallon for my triops, a 20 gallon long for a community tank (including a silver molly i got from a family member who won it at a fair, and is currently living in a 7.5 gallon tank :( ) and i would like a 10 gallon tank to start keeping a beta in.

sadly i have no access to tools to build it with :(
