I keep costs down by doing my own developing using Caffenol (made from instant coffee, washing soda crystals and vitamin C powder ) for developing b/w film and Sodium Thiosulfate (aquarium water conditioner) for fixing. You only need to use water for stop bath using this method.There is plenty of information on the internet and also on various YouTube channels on how to do this. Shopping around you can buy the ingredients quite cheaply. Hope this information helps.

Since the demise of Fuji’s Superia Reala 100, Ilford has been my go to brand for both color and b&w.. with a few caveats of course. Thanks for this video! I’ll look forward to your future examinations of the various Ilford stocks.

Based on the prices of HP5 in 2001 adjusted for inflation, the current price should be 5 bucks... however, government inflation calculations aren't quite accurate, they're more political. So there should be an Ilford Inflation Index (III) where you can calculate TRUE inflation. Ilford are pretty damn honest when it comes to their prices; their whole thing is to make film photography as accessible as possible to inspire the newest generation to do it

Prices go up, always, on everything. We just don't obsess over them for other products.

It’s becoming a huge deal to shoot film right now with prices going up and everyone jumping on the hike prices wagon! It just suck for everyone who is wanting to shoot film and those that still shoot film professionally!
