Im more concerned with the chairman of the BBC being a political appointee, and a close friend and donor to the government.
I dont necessarily agree with Garys views but I dont mind knowing them.
I thought right wingers were against cancel culture?
They seem to be just as bad as the left wing 🤔

Did he donate his Qatari paycheck to charity? Did he speak out against abuse in Qatar?

He is hardly a victim when he is being paid a huge amount of taxpayer money to represent the BBC. If he does not want to be impartial then perhaps he should hand his massive salary back.

If you wanted to move to the USA to improve your standard of life, would you accuse the US government of abusing your human rights if it said 'No, thank you'.

this is what happens when a common person speaks out against the British establishment .

Would these (v obviously left wing) presenters be saying the same if Lineker had publicly declared his support for the new Govt migrants proposals? Absolutely not! All of a sudden they would be angrily demanding impartiality and trying to get him cancelled! Personally i think its ok for Lineker to say what he likes if we were given the option to cancel the License Fee without fear of criminal prosecution. That way everyone would be happy right?

BBC - itself - is the REAL problem here! And, of course, "impartiality" is a concept that doesn't match BBC's editorial policy!...

Why are we even discussing Lineker when it comes to domestic politics? Who elected him, or his cohorts?

Get rid of them all!

glad to see that all these 'free-speech' right wingers are being ideologically consistent

Gary isn't a victim. He spoke his mind and he will take consequences like a man. I get the feeling most people support him, even those who don't agree - I hope I'm right, but freedom of speech is also at stake here.

The problem being is Gary works for the BBC, he was asked to apologise, he said no, it’s part of the BBC policy’s to be impartial, true they have let some things go……but maybe this was the last straw, Gary signed a contract, get payed a great amount of money…..play by the rules!
