My teacher’s last advice/lesson for us was this video. She said “this is the video which you need to ace your paper” and she was right! Thank you for your efforts, hopefully our two year long journey with your channel will bear fruits and give us our well-deserved grades.

You are the best! Your students are so lucky to have you. And so are mine - I love sharing your videos with my students because I also get tired of hearing my own voice. Best wishes for all students around the world who are writing this session!!!

Thank you so much for your English videos!! All through last year I had been watching your English first language videos up until my November 2021 first language English papers and they helped me tremendously. I was able to achieve an A* and these videos contributed greatly to that! Your channel is so helpful.

Hey guys, there are even more ways to develop your points rather than just questioning the writer's feeling at a set point in the directed writing if anyone needs this.

as sometimes (by which I mean most of the time) the text will not be a narrative but more of a non-fiction informational piece of writing. Here are some tips in which to approach development:

1. If the writer mentions a category (such as transport, animals, etc) mention 2 others that are suitable for that setting
2. If the writer hints towards difficulties or advantages of a place or item or anything in general, then a good way to think of developing your points would be to look at the economical side of things
3. For point 2, you could also think on how locals would feel regarding this setting if not already mentioned (depending on your audience and previous context)
4. Think to yourself, "What state would I be in in this position?", as for example: I could be afraid when climbing high mountains or the harsh climate of a setting might make me feel in danger.

Another extra tip: if after all this you feel like you are still on the fence, just pop open a recent mark scheme and look at the directed writing task. Read the point and detail and according to that information only (maybe even the question) try to see if you can develop appropriately and see if the answer is similar or makes sense according to the given model

Developing is really like a smaller version of your analytical skill! Good luck everyone

Hello, I'm writing my first IGCSE English paper 1 today in 1hour 15 minutes. Thank you for making these video's I don't know what I would have done without them since I'm not particularly strong in English, but I will do well. Anyway, please wish me the best of luck. If I get good results, I'll definitely come and post them here. We can do it people writing October/November exams.🥳
