Because stainless steel Daytonas are more versatile and can be dressed up or down accordingly for the occasion. Two tone Daytona is not discreet. Also I think the way Rolex market their SS watches and lack of availability and affordability vs two tone at retail makes them more sort after hence increasing the grey market value significantly.

Cuz gold watches cases and straps need to be finished on constant basis cuz gold is easy to scratch comparing to stainless-steel so that is another additional cost

Pricing is due to "market"....it's fucked....there's a reason why steel versions are higher then two tone version...but wait a year or so or until people start streaming steel versions and the market will reset again
