Been watching since I was 16, I’m now 25 with a mortgage a wife and a baby on the way. Thanks for giving us some class content over the years brother. Addicted to your genuine personalities with yourself Andy and the lads in the videos

BMW tech here (no hate), at 12:10 if you look at the top end of the spring you can see it’s not sat against the seat properly, you’d ideally wanna put that right. i’m assuming you did this because when you went to put the shock back in the bottom end didn’t line up with the bottom arm, best advice for the future would be to mark the shocks so the top mount goes back on in the correct position because on this model the shocks don’t turn with the wheel when you steer. Also tighten any bush bolts with weight on them so they don’t twist :))

I’ve been a mechanic for 15 years, when I was an apprentice I took a fully compressed spring to the face which knocked me clean out! To this day I still get anxious every time I have to replace a spring 😂 I was lucky I only got a split lip

Im no expert in Unit Organisation but I'd thoroughly enjoy seeing Andy on a ladder like Ollivander's wandshop in Harry Potter, sliding along looking for a car part

Should have got the sportline Eibach springs mate. The ones you bought won’t do much. They aren’t 40mm on an MSport, only on a standard f1x series

Unit build!! Make the upstairs a chill out area where you can do your cooking 😜

I definitely like seeing some shop mod videos. I actually just yesterday re-watched your video from five years ago when you first moved into that unit, and commented over there about how cool it is seeing how it's changed, so yeah starting a new year with a freshen up would be great.
In terms of what to do, I'd add some more shelves, and deeper shelves, along with probably one cupboard just to throw the messy stuff out of sight. I'd build up both sides and over that new table you added recently too, make that more of a fitted station with tools and storage around it. Finally I'd throw a big graffiti style mural on the front wall of your mezzanine, above the lift, and add some more art up by the stairs.

You should weld a spring compress mount sort of thing on the 2 poster so when you lower it down it compresses it, seen it a fair few times 👍

Thule parts they sold you were correct. The roof rack you mounted is for different roof rails, the raised ones that have space between them and the roof. Unless you want to loose your bikes mount the correct ones. You can check on Thule website what exact parts you need.

The Thule set they sold you were correct for that car with flush rails… you then fitted a set of bars for raised rails which are not right for your bmw 😂 but somehow they’ve clamped up and held 😂

Yes we would love to see a unit organisation video. New / bigger shelving units and tool walls to organise everything

For the rear air spring adjustment.
Use ISTA. Measure the actual right height from the bottom of the rim to the arch, then run the ride height adjustment routine and input the measured ride height and add what you want to lower.

So if you’ve measured 100mm and want to lower by 20mm, input 120mm. The car will think it’s higher and lower accordingly. Without the need to get under to car and faff around.

Some advice, make sure the car is at ride height before tighting any bolts that go through a rubber bush. If you do it up with the suspension drooped it will twist the bush when you put the car on the floor. The bush should be under no twisting force when sat on the floor. Also means the bush is holding the arm down slighty, not helping with the lows.

Timelapse of a unit sort out would be a top watch 🙌🏻 hanging Hex lights would look cool in addition 👌

Yo! Just for your piece of mind with the roof bars, you’ve installed them completely correctly. (I’m actually trained on installing Thule products from back in the day at an old job lol)

Not to make it too long winded but you have 4 different types of roof bars:

Bolt ons (car specific)
Ones that clamp inbetween your door shuts (also car specific)

Then raised roof rails, and flush roof rails, and cause your roof on the f11 and your Passat both have flush rails, your feet for the roof bars are exactly the same part number, the only difference between the roof bars for if you were to buy them for either car would be the width of the Thule bars as they come in different lengths.

So long story short you’ve installed them properly and they won’t fall off!

Honestly was so stoked so see you go riding again and you bailed! Get a label machine that prints pretty big labels for the racking and label the shelves, it will force you to be more organised once you lay everything out!

Would love to see a bit organisation series, building a garage at the moment and looking for motivation to keep things organised, loving watching Jimmy's series too. I would say shelves with boxes labelled for each vehicle just to keep it separate and organised, easier to remember where it all is and you can then sell off bits you don't need easily. Need to do it for my new car, just bought an Aristo and I want everyone else to leave my spare parts alone, not easy to replace them this time.
