This is an introductory video on Concept Art that I've created over the years for Film and TV projects and how that Concept Art is used as a tool for production logistics beyond just shot design.

Wayne Haag has been a film industry artist in both post production VFX Matte Painting and pre-production Concept Art for almost 29 years. He started his career as a matte painter on The Fifth Element, Farscape the TV series and Lord of the Rings movies. He has been a Concept Artist exclusively since 2012.

Film credits include: The Wolverine, Maze Runner, Alien Covenant, Ghostbusters Afterlife, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, Foundation TV series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds TV series.

Wayne, it really is good to see the people behind some of the incredible art work that makes movies visually stunning. I read your comments on another channel about LOTR and the sky rendition was spectacular. As someone who worked on the movie, in your opinion, which of the now multitude of releases is the best. I was leaning toward the latest 4k, but now see the removal of grain has removed detail. I'm leaning to the original extended editions, but they have a grading over them, which wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't used a different tone for each movie. Any way, thanks again for all the work you have done on movies, brilliant mate.
