Honored to be featured. This performance, recorded back in July, is dedicated to our resilient people and to the iconic Fairuz, with a twist on her beloved song 'Li Beirut'.

The song “Li Fayruz” (for Fayruz) by Nai Barghouti is a tribute to Fayruz, one of the most iconic singers of the Arab world, from Lebanon.
The song is based on Fayruz’s song “Li Beirut" (for Beirut) by Fairuz. The song “Li Beirut”, released in 1984 during the Lebanese Civil War, is a heartfelt tribute to the city of Beirut. The song, based on Albinoni's "Adagio in G minor, " features lyrics by Joseph Harb that express sorrow, love, and hope for Beirut, torn apart by war yet resilient. It became an anthem for the Lebanese people, symbolizing their longing for peace and their deep emotional attachment to the city. Fairuz’s voice and the haunting melody evoke powerful emotions, making this song a timeless tribute to Lebanon's capital.
Song was chosen at this timing probably in support for Lebanon in the current savage aggression on the country.

The first time I heard this it sounded so familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I realize that this song was inspired by a composition from Joaquin Rodrigo called Concierto de Aranjuez. Amazing!
