The people that put the yellow tape up should have been smart enough to call the Electrical Company and stay there and make sure no one walked into that area.

Perfect example of how eyewitness testimony isn't always 100% accurate. Bc the boy was already on the ground and the one cop kinda crawled up and dragged the boy out of the area of the wire, made sure he was breathing, and took him in the SUV to the hospital. So, just remember that eyewitness accounts are not always exact.

How do you drop your kids off at school and not notice it's closed? How do you not notice all the yellow waning tape? Wow.

I survived earthing out 57, 000 volts, those poor bloody kids will feel like there on fire it burns for months after. There going to need a lot of surgery and skin grafting. I survived to teach how to treat these accidents. These kids now have a chance to live because of it. They need your prayers there gonna be scared they won’t look the same and it’ll worry them. There gonna feel sad and they need our support. The families will be stressed anxious and very scared keep them in your prayers too. Those poor kids are going to need a lifetime of support after this. I really feel for them there only kids going through a war/battle

Why does this say a child tried to swing on the line. That's apparently not what happened.

The guy wasn’t lying. The kids hands looked like fried pork rinds but severely charred!

The police was a hero for sure - knowing in order to save the kid he would come in contact with live high power line. 🙏

I watched the video of the police officer pulling up crawling underneath that Hotwire and dragging that motionless boy out. Both hands were fried and the whole top of his head was burnt and he screamed the whole way to the hospital.😰😰😰😰😰😰

In elementary school there was a guy from the municipal electric company that came in and showed us how dangerous electricity was. Safe to say that didn't happen in this city.

And people say cops don’t care. This speaks volumes about how much they care bout the community that they serve. The way they took care of the boy like it was their own child. This is the stuff that never gets shown

I hope the local power company will offer some education in the public schools about the dangers of overhead powerlines. I remember I had safety training as a kid in elementary school with a demo on what to do when you see a downed line. Learning about dangers like this in scholl should 100% come before pretending to be a different gender.

Wow, this poor kid. Being burned is extremely painful but to be severely burned by hands catching fire, my I can’t imagine. Hope this boy recovered well and is doing better today. Saw this video was from a year ago. Anyone know how the kids are doing now?

I can't believe the electric company didn't do anything about the line sooner. Also don't they teach anything in school anymore? I remember the power company doing demos and talks in elementary school. Same with the railroad.

Does anyone have an update on the boys condition? This traumatized me so I cant imagine actually being there. The police body cam episode had me sobbing.

Thank God the little fella survived. However, I can tell by the burns on his hands that he will probably lose most of his fingers. He'll need significant occupational therapy and prosthetics to be able to function normally again. True kudos to the rescuing officer. He knew he had to get the child away from the scene, and he KNEW that just touching the child could lead to an instantaneous death. The medal of valor he received for this was well deserved. Thank God again that it wasn't posthumous.
