&1.85M could get you a luxury house anywhere outside of the 5 boroughs. Hell you could even get one in the 5 boroughs for that price.

Nope. At 6% interest that amounts to about $7, 047 per month for that apartment with the $1, 600. There are plenty of other nice 1 bedroom apartments you can rent in the city (and certainly in Brooklyn) for that and not also be responsible for the insurance or taxes. I understand that prices in Brooklyn can be high, but this apartment at this price isn’t the investment I’d be interested in.

youd need to make about $300k a year to afford this apartment and with that salary, you could afford a really nice, big house 30 minutes away in Jersey. Genuinely have no idea what these developers are thinking

No way! Way too expensive especially for a 1 bedroom! OMG! I can’t afford it anyway but if I could it’s an absolute no! I could get a really nice piece of property with a lot of space and amenities with all that cash!

What kind of maintenance does a brand new building need that $1, 600 are considered cheap? Are you sharing a butler and a cook with two other parties?
Apartment itself is nice although if I was a millionaire I'd expect more space.

Way too small and, again, way too pricey for most people. I have about four times the amount of space in my house, which has been fully renovated, and it's nowhere near this expensive. Plus I get peace and quiet, absolutely no crime and access to a walking trail from my backyard that takes me right to a lake about a minute from here. I mean yes the views in New York City are incredible and that's basically what you're paying for, but still. No thanks.

I can buy a six bedroom house, with a private annexe for family, and a mini golf course for 1.7m here in the British countryside.. we also have large buildings 😂
