It’s unfortunate but I can see why this was done as the developers did not want people to lose their rare Pokémon by accidentally trading them.

Don't worry. Pokemon Masters Ex will probably give Kieran Ogrepon when he gets on there. 😂 Like literally every other character gets the pokemon they wanted but mc took: Zinnia getting Rayquaza for instance.

Kinda wish instead of the usual message Kieran would actually the one refusing Ogerpon, coming in terms with the fact that he isn't the one that should hold it. I'm sure he accepted that fact already from his dialogues where he asks how "The Oger... No, Ogerpon" is doing

It would be a really neat thing to have your rival trade you something much earlier in the game, and whatever you give away ends up becoming part of their final roster.

funny thing not alot of ppl realized is... AS STATED in pokemon sw/sh, trading someone an applin is a ROMANTIC gesture... kieran is hitting on the player

they could have added dialog of Kieran saying something like "i'm sorry y/n i can't take your ogerpon" and you cant trade it to him but he would still have a reaction to it

I like how they had do to the whole "hold the ball and let it float away into the ether" thing when they're standing two feet apart and could have just handed them to eachother

The fact the actions you do to make kieran upset while they're all against your will really makes it hard, it's like watching your mind controlled body beat an innocent person up

What I would’ve done was let the trade go through, but then have him realize what you traded him & force you to trade ogerpon back (for the sake of ogerpon’s feelings)

The only thing keeping me sane at this point is remembering what it means when someone gives you an Applin.

I wish there was a option where we gave Ogerpon to Kieran. Here's my idea. After school maybe more of a Spring Break, There should be some sort of event where you visit Kieran back at his hometown. Feeling moved that you came all the way out here to see him and still apologized for everything he has done and what we went though. Even commenting about how all of this wouldn't have happen if he was so upset that Ogerpon choose you instead of him, even after everything that he has shared with you then became obsessions with wanting to be stronger. If you have Ogerpon in your party it could open a Option Box with "Offer Ogerpon" or "Do nothing". Of course people will select no, but if you offer to allow Kieran to have Ogerpon it triggers a small movie like scene with us handing Kieran Ogerpon Pokeball, with him looking at it with such glee in his eyes from finally getting a chance to own Ogerpon. He starts a short conversation like how your an amazing friend and how lucky he is to have met us. But as he looks down at the Pokeball for a moment he lowers his smiles n comments “You know what?… It belongs to you.” *Gently hands back the Pokeball and looks down* “I've been so obsessed with wanting to have Ogerpon and beating you... I've been completely blind to what's in the best interest for Ogerpon." *Looks back at us* "Now I understand. It gets to experience all kinds of adventures and becoming stronger. All while giving it the love and support it needs. Something I can't give like you do. Ogerpon made the right choice.” then you give his shoulder a pat and nods. After Kieran awards the player with ether a Big Nugget, Comet Shard, or Masterball or both since I do picture the Masterball he used on Terapagos gets repaired but decides to give it to us and the items he found while in the Tera cave.

It would be a moving scene since Kieran could finally let go of all those slight toxic emotions he felt during the entire DLC, being obsessed with wanting Ogerpon and wanting to be stronger in order to defeat us. His actions were a clear sign that he was envious of us and slightly greedy toward Ogerpon. I really wish I could give some sort of closure to Kieran despite everything that has happened.
