I have my mother-in-laws 1976 Bernina machine so will adapt what you have shown. The machine is still working beautifully.

Why, thank you so very much for this useful information. Beginners like me soak it all up!

Thanks so much for this.  I'm a beginner and I always wondered how you would keep the appliqué in place while sewing.  Now it all makes sense :)

Thank you for this easy-to-follow tutorial! Is one time around with the blanket stitch enough to keep the fabric edges of the heart from fraying?

What a great idea to practice on the heart and line up with inside toe of the foot. Thanks.

Lovely! Thank you. My machine isn't as advanced as this one but I can adapt the techniques manually. 😊

You’re embroidering close to the edge of your quilt. How do you put an embroidery design in center of your quilt?
For appliqué, do you cut your "heart" 1/4” larger, then fold in the edge…..and blanket stitch your .heart. With only the cut edge? For example, I have a "Mommy & Me" set of elephants to machine appliqué unto a baby blanket. Do I cut the elephants a bit large and turn in the edge ALL around, or just stitch the cut edge. I wonder if the cut edge will fray as the blanket is washed and dried. Thank you!
