I bought tickets for Arnel. My husband is not a fan so I took my daughter. Mind you she doesn’t know of Journey nor Arnel. While watching it live, she told me that this is the best concert She had ever been.

Even Steve Perry agrees that Arnel is the right vocalist for Journey, having been with Journey far longer than Steve Perry himself was. Arnel is phenomenal. For Journey to strike gold twice with truly one-of-a-kind vocalists is nothing short of miraculous.

As someone who grew up loving the 'original' Steve Perry as a young man, I can still absolutely salute the singular talent of Arnel Pineda. He was in his _forties_ when he started with Journey, and performed all the hits in their original keys.
It galls me when hateful xenophobes just rail against this humble, talented man for simply accepting a job offer and giving it his all with humility and respect. He doesn't deserve it, on ANY level for ANY reason.
And people who do it ought to be ashamed of themselves. Because for DAMN sure Steve Perry is not the kind of person that welcomes a so called 'fan' who claims to love him by despising Arnel.

Arnel's deceased mom could not be more proud of her son's gift. Arnel's humble beginnings and experiencing extreme poverty couldn't happen to a more deserving individual.
Kudos to Journey's open mind to search the entire world for that "magical needle in a haystack discovery". YouTube has open so many doors for those who have been hidden treasures, that otherwise would have been passed over. There's magic on the Internet and we should never take those videos for granted.
Those small contributions can bring so many priceless gifts to humanity's well being.

Steve is Steve, no one is ever going to be another. Arnel's voice, hits you right in the right spot as well, differently nonetheless just as powerful. Like you said, he is not trying to be Steve, but just as full of emotion that radiates out when he sings and catches you. I was choking to be honest with tears. In a good way!

Yes Henry, Arnel is truly an amazing singer. I heard his voice way back in Subic Philippines. I was patrolling the street and a beautiful voice coming out of one night club where my men gather after hours on liberty. He can sing all kinds of songs from great band group, but Journey heard his voice and that's history.
