I hate when people listen to this performance and then say "he isn't Freddy". He isn't trying to be, he is George and can only sing as himself. This was the best performance of the concert IMO and I know Freddy would have loved it. Sure felt like his spirit was there. I miss George so very much and there was no one better live. Songwriter, producer, played most of the instruments and oh he sang a bit too. So underrated. RIP George.

I am a new subscriber after watching your analyse of George Michael at the Freddie Mercury Tribute. I feel that there will never be a songwriter, singer, or performed that will reach Mr. Michael's level. Powerhouse vocals, passion, showmanship, and above all, his songwriting skills, he was pure magic. As a human, he was as flawed as all of us regarding his legal issues. I have never heard a concert performance sound equal or better than an album, but George Michael sounded the same if not better at times than his actual album. I hate the way the media battered him and I miss whatever music that would' have come later from him. I admire your enthusiasm and your candid reaction, I see the same joy on your face that I have every time I hear his voice.

Thank you for doing this. I love a professional critique of George Michael’s singing because I think he was phenomenal and never seems to get his due. He was truly underrated. This performance blows me away every time.
I think I read that he stole the show that night. This performance and his duet with Elton singing “Don’t Let the Sun go down on Me” gives me chills. Just iconic. I also like when you indicate exactly what notes the performer is hitting. You’re helping me really understand music and what an endeavor it is. You just got me to subscribe. 👍

So proud of you George, you absolutely nailed it: The fact that George was so committed to doing a performance that was a fitting tribute to Freddy, meant that he attended rehearsalsfor five days when everyone else only rehearsed for one day. This was evident in his performance on the day he couldn’t have done a better job. I believe George was a musical genius and ahead of his time in some ways. His performances were always warm, vulnerable and relatable and just like Freddy, so incredibly talented, unique and gone way too soon.

George was pretty much the only one after Freddie who had the entire Wembley stadium at his feet, it's only approppriate that it was singing one of his songs. What an amazing moment and he absolutely stole everyone's thunder in a star studded tribute concert. 2016 was such a dark year when it came to deaths of legends like George, and on Christmas day of all days, i miss him.
