The biggest problem with AI for writers is the idiotic censorship! As someone who writes horror novels, this is completely hopeless.
Like probably 75% of all popular fiction today, you will experience graphic content. This then becomes completely useless. OK, if you want to write a silly story about a pink leprechaun with green toes, hitchhiking with an asthmatic mermaid, , , No problem. GPT will pounce on the story for all it's worth, and after page 12, they lived happily ever after. There is a reason why you will not under any circumstances find a YouTube video, which deals with AI fiction in a real story telling. Let's say a thriller of 120, 000 words, with subplots, subtext, and not least low action scenes, which in most novels make up the biggest part of a serious novel.
If you are a children's book author, or just (as I said) want to make a short and funny silly story about the "barbie pink leprechaun" who is going on new adventures. No problem.
As a writer, I'm worried that this silly censorship is only going to get worse, and those who want to use AI for creative work will be limited to such silly "Hello Kitty" stories.
