Just made it and my version doesn't have much flavor. Had to add a lot more salt, bacon, and cheese to make up for the bland milky-roux flavor. And I think mine was thicker. Had to add a bit more milk from the 7 cups to it. I followed the recipe to make for 4 people, but there's a lot more than to serve 4 in my opinion.
Still love the thickness and the texture of the soup though. I think next time I'll use less flour (maybe 1/2 or 1/3 of a cup) and salt as I add each cup of milk.
