How to Canonicalize your URLs and prevent duplicate content issues?

In this video we'll run through what a Canonical URL with RankMath in Wordpress is, how it works and how it prevents you from loosing good Google juice when you re-post content on your website, or you allow others to repost your content.

Canonical URLs point to the original source of the content. If for example you post a press release from a company on your website, this is where you would add the canonical with their original URL. Then Google knows you are legitimately re-posting, and does not penalise you for duplicate content.

What about migrating a site to a new domain? Which url must be pointed in the new domain canonical tab? Old domain url or the new domain url? Thanks

What's up with the bad green screen? Really? So distracting. GREAT content. Sad if you have a high bounce rate...

Hi, thanks for explaining this. I have one question. Are the articles identical - same title and same meta, and focus keyword? Thanks

Is this just an Advert for this SEO plugin? There must be ways to change Duplicate Canonical URL's without having to purchase and upgrade expensive SEO Plugins. If not why not surely Wordpress itself must be aware of the issues and have a fix themselves.

Congratulations for the tutorial! One question, I have an online shop created with WordPress using Divi and I installed the Rankmath plugin! I have this problem The canonical url has no internal incoming links. What should I do to solve this problem? Do I have to insert the link of my site via rankmath as canonical?Of course I will follow your tutorial.Another question, do I have to insert the canonical links for every single page of my site?

Does this work any better or differently than yoast seo? Im getting duplicate canonical tag errors on all of my pages for some reason. I put in the proper canonical tag in the advanced section of yoast seo plug in, but am still getting the same error. Wondering if this would help fix it any better or if the yoast plugin should have worked and i would be running intot he same problem? Thanks
