I love to hear this sound all summer long. Most people don't even notice it, but I find it very soothing!
I've heard the sounds of crickets my entire life, but only seen them once or twice. Amazing that a creature that is so sonically intrusive, can also be so visually elusive! Thanks for the soothing sounds!

I instantly recognized this as my favorite cricket recording ever: Dusk at New Hope, PA from Environments 3, 1971. I used to spin the vinyl to help me fall asleep in college, then bought the CD several years later to help while adjusting to new phases of life, and finally this is the video I play on my smartphone while I decompress from the stresses of the day. Great visual, pleasant dreams.

Incredible, too, how they are synchronized in perfect harmony. I understand that their rhythm is based upon the temperature, which explains their synchronicity. Cool! Amazing!

I'm in Alaska, I miss those sounds that lulled me to sleep so long ago. I miss thunder storms too. I miss Wisconsin, Forest Junction area. I miss water out of an old field pump, I miss the smell of a barn, the smell of silage, I miss the people. I miss hugging cows and scratching bulls on their head. I haven't slept in a long time easily, I think I'm missing all the night noises I grew up with.

i wanted something different than city rain to listen to which i love but wanted something different so i came here. this is the best cricket video in my opinion. the other cricket vids are so loud one feels like they need an exterminator not a good nights rest. I did get a good nights rest but in the morning... i had enough. i'm a true city girl and well... the country is a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want to live their. thanks for sharing
