H.E. President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Dennis Francis, delivered impromptu remarks at the traditional Tea Ceremony at the invitation of the Mission of Japan to the United Nations.
"Peace is something that we have to work for. We do not and should not take it for granted. Peace needs to be nurtured during times of strife and during times where there is no strife. Because (strife) is disruptive, it changes everything, it undermines development. It causes great pain and suffering, and dislocation and it leaves an indelible scar in the psychic of humanity.
Imagine a world without war and strife what a phenomenal achievement that would be."
