Zack's comment section:

1) Zack never runs out of ideas.
2) Zack needs a new comment section.

As a diabetic, needles for these things are FAR from painless. They don’t suck like they used to, but you put it in the wrong spot and your gonna be chanting to yourself “don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry”

Along with that there are others

Notably:

insulin gets released from the pump into subcutaneous tissue, not your bloodstream

The glucose monitor, also known as a CGM, is (for now) a separate piece of hardware

As someone with type one diabetes I can confirm that it is not painless at all.

Edit: my notification is exploding

So, uh, Type 1 diabetic on an Omnipod insulin pump here. Feel free to correct me if there’s another pump out there that actually does this, but the pump and the thing that monitors your blood glucose are actually two separate devices. Yes, they can talk to each other, and the pump can base its insulin delivery on what the cgm (continuous glucose monitor) says, but they’re not the same thing. Also, the insulin doesn’t go into your blood stream like it’s shown in the video. It goes into the fat below your skin to be absorbed into the body.

Thank you for covering insulin pods! I am a type 1 diabetic and learning how this device has been managing my life for two years was fun! 🤩

The insulin patch does not monitor glucose levels on its own it will need to be connected to something like a dexcom
