Honor Magic V3 (Chinese ROM) First Impressions and Full Software Walkthrough (Coming From Fold 4)

Missed to mention the following:
- The gallery comes with a great photo editor with lots of features including magic eraser.

- When transferring apps using device clone app data isn't transferred.

- There's stacking for the cards (default Honor widgets), but it's not possible to stack third-party app widgets like on One UI.

- To get to the app card that you set (for example the one I set on the phone app, you just need to swipe on the app icon on the homescreen and that widget will be shown. Could be useful but it's only available for default Honor apps at the moment)

- Google Find My Device does work fine (you can ring/lock the device, add contact info remotely, and it gives you real time location)

- There's a workaround for Android Auto which is buying a Car Android Box from Amazon (about $60) and then connecting your phone to that.

Great attempt on your first video of such nature! What I loved was how detailed you were in reviewing the OS, how you showed what apps to uninstall, and what to deactivate in the OS settings. I appreciated how knowledgeable you were of the OS and fast in your explanations!

The advice that I want to give you is to have better control on the exposure and focus of your camera by having everything tested and ready before you start filming, and to eliminate the shaking of the camera which happened most of the time during your filming.

Congratulations on your great review since you were the only YouTuber who satisfied my curiosity about the phone's OS. I am mesmerized by the orange Magic V3! I daily-drive a Z Fold4 and refuse to upgrade until Samsung levels up its hardware to at least match its Chinese counterparts.

Nice video, very useful. I think the Vivo x fold 3 pro is still the best overall package. Larger battery, better cameras and faster performance.
I also prefer under screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. Additionally, OriginOS is slightly better and more polished than MagicOS.

Great video on the Magic v3. How much is it in the UAE? Is this the 256 or 512GB? Have you tried the Vivo x Fold 3 Pro? I was leaning towards the Vivo more than the Honor, do you know how much the Vivo x Fold 3 Pro the 512GB in UAE? I think it has a better camera and i heard better OS slightly though it is a little thicker and heavier ..

Unfortunately it's not available in the US nor is it guaranteed to work with our major carriers. I spoke to t-mobile in store and was informed there was a 50/50 chance the device will work. Expensive gamble in my book. I have a buddy lives in San Jose Costa Rica that would send me a new device.... $1600USD. Im tempted but my wife will string me up if it won't work as intended.

Also had a few questions. 1. Does the OS have an option to wake screen when receiving a notification? 2. Does the picture album have a hide photo option? 3. Does it have a Secure Folder like Samsung has? 4. Noticed when you open app switcher its in a grid form. Can you change the view to like side by side swip type view?

Very insightful, thankyou. I would have loved more time spent showing the App draw. It being missing was a huge concern for many when the v2 launched (added later) and it is popular with many android users. You mention that you dislike it as you cant use folders in the app draw, but usually, using an appdraw still allows you to use folders on your homepage. Is that not the case with the v3?
