NASA should send a private contractor to collect the alien spores. They should use the ISS to do initial assessments rather than risk xenomorph infestation. Hear me Ripley?!

I feel we take for granted life on earth and don’t fully understand or can’t imagine that it could be wiped out so easily. Finding that there used to be life on Mars and not there isn’t is so terrifying to me.

I do hope we find that there was life on Mars, I wanna see the reaction of those people who think we’re the only life in the universe, I’m not getting my hopes up at all tho

When life is finally found on Mars, it will be subterranean deep underground or in bodies of water. If life ever existed on the surface, it will have moved underground to seek refuge of the harsh environment of the surface

I wonder if some, or even most of those fossilized microbes produced large amounts of oxygen. They had quite a lot of oxygen producing microbes on Earth around 2 billion years ago that eventually led to the great oxygenation event.

Look how fucked up this world is how they explain something and tell you nothing but know everything

Still as life, NASA searching surface for 28yrs, below the surface is water and heat, just right for Extremophiles.

It’s actually so insane to think one day we’ll be able to at least piece together some of mars history and understand why the planet became completely covered in dust

Whether the samples get returned to earth is doubtful. It isn't in their current budget due to how expensive the mission to return the samples would be. 🙁

In the distsnt future, the sun grows hotter and so we take a giant gravity manipulator to remove earths water and take it to mars where the temp is cooler, and we can start over.

Scientist most of the time are uninspired in naming things but sometimes, not often, sometimes they are badasses

If we find that life arose independently on Mars, it means two planets in a single solar system created abiogenesis- which means that simple, microbial life might very well be common... And that means, a solid chance that other complex and intelligent life might have developed elsewhere in space and time.
