Imagine what it must have been like to see Hendrix play in a bar when he wasn't famous. For God's sake.

One can imagine being someone in the crowd thinking “oh shit he plays the blues like THAT??? AND HE LIKES BOB DYLAN???”

What I love about this is that it really shows Jimi’s charismatic frontman abilities and ability to sing AMAZINGLY, and just absolutely captivate and enchant the audience with his every motion and gesture. Most people only think of him as this unforgettable guitar virtuoso, but he was so much more than that. Dude had so much charisma, style, humor, wit, he had it all!

He is the one. He is the Neo of the Guitar world. He is the Guitar God. No one will ever replace him.

Jimi Hendrix is the only performer that makes Bob Dylan’s songs a million times cooler.

I always wonder as someone who was just a kid at that time, did those people in the crowd really appreciate what they were witnessing! As someone who missed out on that era i look at it with envious eyes!

Hendrix went on to that stage as a rumour and left it as a legend.
He had already made a name for himself in England, this was his homecoming and he wanted America to know.

No idea a video of this performance existed! I was mesmerized by the audio upload of this performance, but the fact that a video of it exists is a wonderful discovery! Thank you for the upload!

Dylan writes it as a tribute to Muddy and Jimi covered it. Dylan also loved one of the greatest blues musicians of all time, Blind Willie Mctell

I love Jimi and I love Bob Dylan -- this is a win win situation.

Just watched “A complete unknown”. Jimmy, like Bob, both musical geniuses who marched to the beat of their own drums

Came on the bonus CD on the re-released 2011 limited edition box set Winterland 1968 concert. The best version. EVER. \m/

"A SWORD IN AFRICA" is a book dedicated to the late great Jimi Hendrix. Book is about 4 freedom fighters after poachers who murdered Americans in Kenya. Along the way the group plays Hendrix songs before going into battle, whacking any poacher or criminal who gets in their way. One hell of a book---can be found on Kindle bookstore.
