For the first time in a while, the most memorable and standout moment of an Undertale fangame came not from Pacifist or Genocide, but Neutral! This whole sequence had me absolutely FLOORED!

I think the "Clover riding on a Flowey-headed horse" attack is Flowey's passive-aggressive way of saying "You would NEVER have made it this far without me."

Something that caught my interest about this particular final boss, was the fakeout-jumpscare at the end, when he looks directly at you-the-player and zooms in for a moment.

See, in vanilla Undertale, Flowey is well aware that this world is a game, and that the human SOUL is controlled by a player. He's still confident that he's the more powerful one because he has dibs on the SAVE mechanic, but he's figured out that you-the-player are a factor.

From how I interpreted Flowey in UTY, it seems like... this being a game is news to him. A core difference between this and Omega Flowey, is that he never closes out of the game directly -- since he's only got your SOUL in his little nightmare realm, he likely doesn't have the power to mess with the game to that degree, and he might not even notice the game window at all until the end. That zoom-in is a moment of realization that something's really, really wrong here.

He said this was just one of hundreds of runs, which I found a little bit weird, especially when he started going into how Clover was always going off the rails in ways you can't as a player. Which... seems to indicate that, up until the moment you double-clicked that little yellow heart icon to open up the game, it was its own entirely autonomous world.

So he realizes, shoot, there really is no winning against someone who keeps retrying forever, and can just put the whole world in stasis when they get bored. So it's time to reset. Flowey _needs_ you to get that pacifist ending, so that you'll be satisfied. As far as he knows, his only chance at overpowering _you_ is to get all the remaining human souls and become a god. At least, he thinks.

(Which is kinda funny, because Neutral was the third and final route I did before putting the game down.)

Some interesting fact is that this song uses many Flowey-related samples, like his "that's a wonderful idea" line from the Undertale Genocide route or his dialogue sound.
Makes sense since this is not a fight against a completely overpowered monster breaking all limits of his in-game world like Photoshop Flowey, but also not a fight against his true form, Asriel.

This is just Flowey. Flowey the Flower.

fun fact: flowey saying "what would u like to do?" and "great!" are taken from the same mcdonald's commercial that flowey's original lines like "that's a wonderful idea!" come from. i have to wonder if the UTY team came up with the idea of having flowey give u the choice to select different "forms" for him solely because those lines existed in the commercial.... god they're clever

The fact Clover would had been stuck eternally in this hell if Flowey didn't got bored of them refusing to die is such a great way to show how evil he is

I really love this theme, is literally a remix of Your Best Nightmare with an entire new twist while feeling similar with that sweet wonderful Amen Break

The idea that the music during this fight is diagetic is really funny because that would mean flowey is also just a really good composer

The dialogue at the end implies that this is what he wanted his final form to be with the souls, and even with six of them, he still didn’t have enough power to bring all of his ideas into the fight with frisk.

Hearing this while remembering Flowey’s past as Asriel makes us remember how much he has gone through when remaining as a soulless flower truly an emotional built up.

This game made me realise how truly unhinged flowey is and that frisk was lucky to have more determination than him

It honestly caught me so off guard hearing the Megalovania EB Overdriven Guitar here. The sample usage is so ON POINT though

This plays inside Asriel's head 24/7. Don't forget, Flowey is Asriel's afterlife as well.

Song 7 in this ost is “Howdy!” Or Floweys theme. 100 songs later, and we get to his boss theme. How fitting.
