FIRST DRIVE: The Crosstrek gets a major redesign from Subaru. The Cross Trek competes with the Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross. On the outside you will discover new 17in wheels, aluminum fenders, grill and roof rack. On the inside there is an 11.6in infotainment screen, cloth seats and heated seats. Under the hood is a 2.0L flat-4 that produces 152HP. Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek a better SUV to buy than a Toyota Corolla Cross?

In 2023 not sure why companies aren’t using LED lights all around, the price of them has really come down. Another great video from Joe and Lori!

Why is everyone showing them in the desert? Why not in the woods and muddy terrain which most people will actually use them in

I just bought a ‘23 6mt Premium Crosstrek. I’ve always been a manual trans guy. I find it makes much better use of available horsepower and is a lot more fun to drive than a CVT. I bought the ‘23 instead of waiting for the ‘24 when I found out Subaru discontinued the manual trans option for ‘24.

Hi Joe, thanks for this video! You title this as a comparison between the Subaru Crosstrek and a Toyota Corolla Cross but you didn't make a conclusion. Do you have another video that addresses the two compared?

My 2013 Crosstrek has 160, 000 miles on it, and it has never gotten close to the EPA sticker even when new, more like 21 mpg around town. (My 2006 Audi A3 always has always gotten 32 MPG plus so I know it isn't my driving style.) When I bought the Crosstrek, there was no shortage of other buyers complaining about the mileage also. Those comments miraculously disappeared. I'm looking at a Cross Hybrid as it literally gets double the mileage and I've never read anything bad about the EPA mileage on a Toyota vehicle.

I have a 23 Sport, and i just love the mix of analog and tech. To me this new one is too much focused on screens, i just don’t like it. But great review, keep it up guys

The moonroof and powered chair is an add on package...it doesn't come standard with the Premium

its 2023 At this point led's are a must on all vehicles. Having halogen lights makes newer cars look outdated sounds weird but I wouldn't purchase a car with out one unless its a classic. Great review as always!!

I have a 2014 XV Crosstrek with a CVT. CVT works fine no problems.

It's too bad they discontinued the manual transmission, and I don't like the 11" screen. I like analog displays, controls, switches and buttons, and I like a manual transmission. Still, it looks like they made some improvements. I have a 2023 Crosstrek with a manual transmission that I plan to keep for a while.

I have a 19 crosstrek, 2.0 ain’t bad. 2.5 was a slightly better but we want a turbo. That’s the only zonk I’ll give the crosstrek is no turbo option

Love my 2023 Crosstrek Limited! It is fully loaded even with more features than what the Limited gets in the US! I am very pleased with its performance and comfort, mileage as advertised and truly fun to drive! I prefer the Crosstrek to my wife’s 2022 Honda Cr-V Touring which has a 1.5 L turbo engine and 190 hp.

Joe, can you find a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart to review? I know the engine in 2023 is the same I think with plans of 2024 to be more powerful, but the cosmetics look pretty cool for 2023.

Eliminating all the physical controls and incorporating them into the gigantic touch screen is cost cutting at its worst. Reaction time is slower using touch screens and is a safety issue since you need to take your eyes of the road longer than using physical controls. What was Subaru thinking in making such a dangerous move?

Long time Subaru owner and lover here, but I worry about carbon buildup with gdi engines. Toyota uses both direct and port injection to fight this problem.

Easy there Joe. We understand you have a pet peeve over the incandescent light bulbs for turn signals, but to give it the magic finger? Love your reviews and Lori's great work with the camera. By the way...do you pay your own way to these events?
Thank you for the love on Subaru!
