THIS mistake cost me $1600

If you want a short answer, basically he used copilot to write code for him which left a boolean flag to True instead of False. As a result, he was making calls to Stripe's API to generate Invoice PDFs that was costing him 0.4% of the transaction.

Lesson is to not blindly rely on generated code and review it, read docs and understand what it does. Well, if you are a millionaire and own 24 startups, it doesn't matter.

if you're doing recurring with stripe, the invoice is enabled by default and cannot be disabled (that's another frustration, create a stripe competitor now :) )

it's not clear from the docs that you'd be charged, especially when you've turned it off in settings. In this case it's just as likely a developer would make the mistake as AI written code.
