I just did this on an old, crusty, abused and severely neglected portable bbq grill that hasn't been cleaned in over 15 years.
I used way more salt and way more baking powder, spread it on with a stainless steel scrubby pad, covered the paper towels with white wine vinegar, cuz it was all I had, and rubbed it with the scrubby after only 3 minutes, cuz everyone said it was fake.
Turns out, the grill wasn't black after all.
It is burgundy enamel paint, and it works beautifully.
I even cleaned all the grill wires, and they are stainless steel, too.
Only thing I did differently was to mix the goo in a cup, and it works like a damn charm.

it works if you first paint the dish with Acrylic or water colors

😮Omg this is silly this is all you need....take 1 cup of white vinegar, chop up a lemon, and 2 tbsp of baking soda and boil it all in your pan or pot for 5 minutes, all that burnt stuff will come out. Promise. I wouldn't lie to anyone. Hope this helps someone. 😊

It's WAY easier to use drain opener. Turns the oils into soaps that just rinse away. You can not get it off with vinegar and baking soda without scrubbing.

If you're really wondering leave some wet turmeric on the bottom and use a rag you don't care about.

Just use oven cleaner with some plastic wrap. I leave and do other chores. When I come back everything just rinses off so easily.
