SOS Free Eating

SOS free eating is a diet without added Sugar, Oil or Salt. We all need energy from our foods, which ultimately is some form of sugar. But we get plenty of natural sugars in fruit and carbohydrates, so we don't need to add refined sugar and sweeteners to be healthy.
We also need oil and fat to be healthy, but we don't need to add oil to our foods to have all our bodies need to be healthy, so SOS free eating means not adding free oil, oil from a bottle, to our foods. We want to get our fat and oil from whole foods like avocado, nuts and seeds.
And, medical science has been saying for years we need to eat a low sodium (salt) diet to avoid heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. We do need sodium to be healthy, but we get plenty when we eat a whole food plant based diet.
Connie got us looking in this direction when her blood pressure started rising and she's brought it back down by no longer adding Salt or Oil to our meals. We never did add Sugar. And we've both found we prefer eating this way now. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
