You have a very patient wife. My wife ran out of patience ages ago so I can't test any lenses on her - he he!

I just got this lens today and am amazed at the build quality. Rock solid. I haven't taken shots with it as I'm waiting on the camera I bought to arrive, but wow, I'm already impressed.

Just recently bought this lens for my Nikon Z50. I`m really happy with it so far, the build quality at this price is just unbelivable. And if you want to brush up on or getting into manual shooting, this is the one. I can see this lens beeing a good match on the Zfc, i might just have to get one of those also.

I really like your reviews, especially when you compare the lens with others. Also, thanks to the clarity with which you speak and how accurate your explanations are, I fully understand what you are saying without English being my mother tongue.

This portrait lens is an absolute steal! Perfect for taking close-up shots. The aperture control is handy for indoor use. Feels really weighty in the hand. I think it's the best manual lens I've ever gotten. The metal build is amazing. The rings turn so smoothly. And the picture quality? Sharp as a tack even with the aperture wide open.

Please do a comparison video against the Kamlan 50mm f1.1and possible other manual lenses for the Sony E mount.

It would be interesting to see a lens like this up against some vintage manual lenses as the price is quite similar rather than the Sigma

You must have been reading my mind! I saw this lens last night on adorama and went to your channel to see if you reviewed it yet, then I get home from work today and here it is.

I like how he is very honest about its difference from the sigma.

I've got this lens and I very much enjoy it. No need for anything sharper, really. Perfect companion for my weekend walks and rather slow style of shooting.

I bought the TTartisan 35mm F1.4 as my first budget friendly lens, and you can do pretty good pics with it if you don´t crop like crazy or use the 1.4 all the time. Random potraits, photos to hang on your wall, be creative, train manual focus... for that money? Man, it worth it.

im astonished evertime i watch your videos, just the sharpness and the on point focus you get just by manual Focusing

I wish you discussed the T-stop. There was a noticeable difference in exposure. Wide open, the Sigma @ f/1.4 appeared to be much brighter than the TTartisans @ f/1.2.

Great review of a very interesting manual lens! I totally love the TT Artisan 35/1.4, am very curious now about this 50/1.2!
What really seems to stand out is the mechanics of these lenses, well-damped focusing, beautiful aperture ring etc. These TT Artisans feel just a bit better than the other "cheap" lenses it seems ...

Excellent review as always and great photos. A minor quibble which would enhance my understanding of the key points you make - when showing comparison shots side by side it is often not clear which is shot by which lens unless reversing back to the beginning where you say it once. Can you label the photos or at least say "the Sigma lens on the left..." etc.

Another brilliant review Arthur. I wonder how it compares to the 7artisans 55mm F1.4?

When the aperture clicking ASMR began, I closed my eyes and in my head I was like "Yeah, that's the sh..." :D

This obsessing about "sharpness" seems to be the bane of the digital age. You've got some very impressive, clear images that seem to be in focus and all that most people would expect. Surely that's all you want?

Tganks for the review. I just bought this today
