Is Paradox Working on a Cold War Game?

I was just enjoying a plate of Hummus when Paradox have decided to drop a bomb on the community and announce that they are going to announce the announcement of a new game during the next Paradox Con.

So is the new game going to be a Cold War Game? Let me know what you think in the comments.

Just to note, I am aware that the "alien" in the PDXCON image is the space ameba from Stellaris that you can often adopt and that the dome is a reference to Surviving Mars so the Nuclear Mushroom is the biggest hint for my theory :)

its funny because i was at pdxcon 2018, and i specifically remember a panel about "pitching ideas"/"elevator pitches" and how they mentioned that they got a cold war game pitched a billion times and how they didnt see it as "feasable gameplay wise". which only lowers my expectations of this future game. also nice that you are expanding your content! very nice

I've always wanted a Cold War game from Paradox, hopefully this pans out.

I do want Victoria III but let's be honest, it became the Half Life 3 of Paradox at this point.

Personally I'm hoping for the Cold War Game, but I wouldn't be disappointed at all with Victoria III.

It's either:
1) Victoria III, which imo is the most likely(and what I want the most)... I mean Paradox would be idiots to not be working on a sequel at this point with such a high demand.
2) Like you suggested, a Cold War game. I'm gonna combine this with a generalized 'Hoi4 offshoot, ' covering history at some point between the Great War to Modern Day.
3) Something delving into fantasy, such as Vampire Masquerade or dungeons and dragons-like.

I think I'll still hope for Victoria 3 and even for Sengoku 2.
I assume Sengoku was a test game for CK2, but this period of Japanese history would be much better in PDS style, if they'll ever develop a new one

I believe it's a world of darkness (vampire the masquerade universe) strategy game that was mentioned 2 paradoxcons ago. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Now it's 2023. We still waiting for Paradox to working on Cold War game. Yes, Hearts of Iron 4 has a Cold War Iron Curtain mod. But I want Cold War game made by the Paradox Interactive.

I have a feeling the game would be CK4 or EU5 but I hope it is Vicky III or a Cold War Game

If paradox can accurately simulate the economic and political battles of the Cold War then hell yeah and nukes too

Otherwise Victoria III is good too, again if they can do it right by keeping what made Victoria 2 after heart of darkness good

I want VicIII, which would be the perfect base for a Cold War game, but I would be happy with a cold war game. As long as there’s no nonsense like an arbitrary event that makes the Soviet economy weaker year by year. If you can’t win the Cold War as the soviets or build an effective planned economy as them, even if it’s hard to do, then it would feel too railroaded.

This will be Victoria III, because she follows the second one version of the game, just like CK3.

Cold war is an interesting time period but is pretty boring as a grand strategy game. I hope they make Victoria 3 but don't completely dumb it down like they did with CK3.
