We all have the right to adopt the protection of the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution. Such a position may not be used against you in a criminal case. Edit: It may give rise to inferences in a civil case, but it's still a protection against criminal issues.

The 5th amendment was put in place to prevent government abuse and coerced confessions contrary to fact. It should always be respected.
