Actor Gavin MacLeod, known for his roles in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Love Boat" died at the age of 78.

Just finished watching the Love Boat, clicked on phone news and saw that Gavin MacLeod had passed away this morning. How ironic. All the great actors I grew up with are leaving us one by one. He was great as Murray on MTM and as Captain Stubing on the Love Boat. RIP Gavin we all loved you!!! 😥😥😥

He played Captain Merrill STEUBING ( pronounced "Stew-Bing" ) It wasn't Captain Stebin. You're editors & research people ( if you have any ) should be FIRED.

Love Boat was very influential. The cruise industry with its fleet of super size cruise ships, grew through the influence of this TV series. Compared to the enormous ships of today the love boat was a yacht. Great actor and thanks from a great industry.

Darn. No show, ever, like The Love Boat. The age 78 err I believe was intended to note the passing of BJ Thomas ("Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song"; "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head"; "Hooked On A Feeling." Rest-in-Peace BJ and Gavin, and kudos to you both for assisting in the development of millions of us youngsters growing up in the 1970s.

John Amos played Gordy Howard, the weatherman on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, from 1970 until 1973. I believe he still alive. So, Ed Adsner said now it's the two of us (meaning himself and Betty White), Actually, it's the three of them if you count Amos (age 81).

You need to change the title of your post. He was 90... NOT 78. He was a character on Hogan's Heroes in the mid 1960's. If he was 78 in 2021 then he would only have been 23 or 24 years old back then which he CLEARLY wasn't.
